As the dirt and grime washed away from the animal, the man began to see that it was a small, scrappy dog.
The dog’s fur was matted and dirty, but it wagged its tail enthusiastically as the water poured over it. The man couldn’t believe his luck – he had been looking for a loyal companion for months, and it seemed like fate had led him straight to this little dog.
He scooped the dog up in his arms and dried it off with a towel, marveling at how soft its fur was now that it was clean.
As he looked into the dog’s grateful eyes, he knew that he had found a friend for life.
